Design studio Leviathan packages Mikky Ekko's Time

Singer/songwriter and RCA Records recording artist Mikky Ekko reached out to many A-list music industry talents to bring together his new album Time (http://smarturl.it/TimeAlbum), and for his personal brand identity, the album's highly crafted package design, a custom graphics package for key promotions and much more, he enlisted conceptual design studio Leviathan. The scope of work with Leviathan also included an innovative interactive stage set he will debut in his upcoming concert events... the first of which will take place in New York City on Feb. 18.

"This project represented both familiar territory and mind-bending exploration for us," began Leviathan's executive creative director Jason White. Well known for their work transforming commercial advertising, live events, film, television and environments, the most high-profile projects to-date for White and his colleagues include Amon Tobin's ISAM Live and buzz-worthy feats for musical artists Drake and Skrillex, among many others. In the Summer 2014 timeframe, under White's creative direction, Leviathan convened its task force for the design package, consisting of lead designer Gareth Fewel, designer Alexis Copeland, producer Ellen Schopler, executive producer Chad Hutson and chief scientist Matt Daly

"When Mikky visited our studio, he gravitated toward some of our original design posters hanging on the wall," White continued. "Within those posters, he zeroed in on our blending of surrealistic graphite drawing and contemporary type designs. Together with Mikky, Gareth and Alexis, we all were on the same page from the start about style and future ambitions, which made this very exciting to work on."

"Linking up with Leviathan for me was priceless, because on an artistic level, and their level of execution and professionalism, it felt like a really natural relationship," said Ekko. "We were creating an ecosystem together... and the things I was seeing in my head were being put onto paper. What we've been able to create, I just hope it inspires people as much as it has inspired me, to create."
